Unfortunately we have had to cancel this summer’s tournament but it will be back in 2021 so save the dates – Friday 25th to Sunday 27 June
Monday 23rd March 2020
On behalf of the whole club I would like to share our deepest thanks to all of those on the frontline tackling the Coronavirus situation. Within the club we have nurses, doctors, carers, teachers, emergency services and many other key workers providing their vital support. We are all extremely grateful.
I would also like to reinforce the importance of following the latest Government guidance on social distancing, self-isolation and handwashing. We’re all in this together and our collective efforts will protect those most vulnerable.
We will support anyone in the club who needs help because of the Coronavirus. This could be a regular phone call for a friendly chat if you’re house bound and alone or picking up shopping for those advised to stay at home.
We are also working on remote coaching support for our young players and will be arranging fun, interactive remote training and fitness sessions.
And over the next four weeks, using the wonders of video conferencing:
· The club committee will continue to meet monthly.
· The Player Council will convene to discuss innovative ways to celebrate the season up to this point.
· We will hold a #MayfordDNA Coach Development Session
The tournament committee will make a final decision on the GoOrange 2020 Mayford Summer Tournament planned for June 27th and 28th at the end of May.
I started the day with the Joe Wicks home PE session. It’s great fun and for anyone. We’ll be doing this at home each morning for a positive and energised start to the day. I fully recommend giving it a go.
Take care and stay tuned for more soon!
Mayford Athletic Football Club was founded in 1968 and is an FA Charter Standard Club run by volunteers, with FA Level 1,2 & 3 (UEFA B) and FA Futsal coaches.
We are extremely proud to be an FA Charter Standard Club thanks to the efforts of our chairman, managers, coaches, the committee and a host of willing parents who help and support the club every week.
The FA Charter Standard is awarded to football clubs who provide a high quality football experience and who have proven that they are well run, sustainable and place child protection, safety and quality coaching at the top of their priorities.
We coach boys and girls in all age groups from U6 – U13, teams play in a range of different leagues. We offer all players a wide range of opportunities to play, regardless of their ability or aspirations, through a mix of training, match play and social activities we encourage them to develop not only their physical skills but to nurture their self-respect, self-esteem, self-confidence, integrity and respect whilst having fun too!
We invite new members to join all our age groups throughout the season and welcome volunteers to contribute to the club in many different ways so please contact us if you can spare some time.
