With the 2019/2020 season now well underway, I wanted to wish everyone at the club all the best for the games ahead and extend a warm welcome to those new to the club – we are delighted to have you with us for the new season.
Please register at the bottom of the home page if you would like to receive a copy of the club’s newsletter, including a weekly note from the Chair. Having recently taken on the role as club Chair from Nick Elford who – as many of you know – has done so much to transform the club, I wanted to flag a few things.
We have a new club Treasurer, Sheriff Choudhury, who along with Helen O’Connor is helping ensure we continue to be a vibrant and well managed club.
We have a full calendar of development and social events planned for the season and are very open to all offers of support and suggestions for taking the club forward.
The club’s famous quiz night hosted by Quiz Master Malcolm will take place on the 22nd November. Mark your diaries and start planning your teams now.
And remember, each Saturday the clubhouse, shop, boot swap and café are open and I’d encourage you all to make the most of them.
If you’re visiting us for a game during the season, we look forward to welcoming you to Mayford – we’ll be sure to make you feel welcome.
Mayford Athletic FC is an FA Charter Standard club and we fully support the FA’s Respect program in all that we do at the club.
Enjoy all of the football at the club this season, win, lose or draw #WEONLYDOPOSITIVE
Thanks for all of your support making the club FA Charter Standard club of the month – October 2019,
Mayford Athletic Football Club was founded in 1968 and is an FA Charter Standard Club run by volunteers, with FA Level 1,2 & 3 (UEFA B) and FA Futsal coaches.
We are extremely proud to be an FA Charter Standard Club thanks to the efforts of our chairman, managers, coaches, the committee and a host of willing parents who help and support the club every week.
The FA Charter Standard is awarded to football clubs who provide a high quality football experience and who have proven that they are well run, sustainable and place child protection, safety and quality coaching at the top of their priorities.
We coach boys and girls in all age groups from U6 – U13, teams play in a range of different leagues. We offer all players a wide range of opportunities to play, regardless of their ability or aspirations, through a mix of training, match play and social activities we encourage them to develop not only their physical skills but to nurture their self-respect, self-esteem, self-confidence, integrity and respect whilst having fun too!
We invite new members to join all our age groups throughout the season and welcome volunteers to contribute to the club in many different ways so please contact us if you can spare some time.
